Hey, I've downloaded a few movies and for the majority they have all worked. Sometimes I find that some of the movies will skip and display grainy squares during playback on my DVD player. I dont think that its a problem with the DVD video files because it seems to be a relatively consistent problem.
If anyone has any input or comments that may help, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

It sound like a media (dvd disc) problem. What media are you using, and how fast are you burning?

PS double posting the same question is against the forum rules.

I am using maxell 8X DVD-R media but it usually burns at around 4X. And I know its not a DVD player issue.

Maxwell media was under discussion earlier in the Media forum. check this thread out and see if it applies.

No, luckily this doesn't apply to me. I got DVD Identifier and it turns out they are manufactured by Ritek Corp, not CMC.
I tried playing the DVD from my PC and get this.. it worked fine, no skipping..?
I really dont think its a DVD player issue because most of the DVD's I copy or download always seem to work..?

@whacha, please dont double post. I missed this thread and replied to your other, it makes it hard for us if you have 2 threads going at once and is frowned upon

I'd still try to burn at a slower speed, just to see what happens :)
Also; if they're downloaded movies, it's always possible the flaws were in the original..

Bitsetting might also be the answerer? (can't do it with my Samsung/Toshiba.) But there's lots of postings how and why it's done.

regards, and good luck gringle
