Hello All,

I was recently handed a project (as I've mentioned a few times before on AD) at work - I need to come up with a solution for solving compatability issues with older stand-alone DVD players. Thanks to helpful forum people I've come to the conclusion that using a DVD+R with the booktype set to DVD-Rom is the best way. I even have found a few burners to test out Plexor PX-716AL, BenQ DW1640, etc.

My question now concerns DVD duplicators. My results will eventually be passed on to our Master Control Techs. They'll recieve a VHS from Admissions and be asked to make anywhere from 30 - 150 DVDs for distribution to students, alumni, etc. I'm hoping we can use this process to meet their needs: author one DVD+R with the booktype field set to DVD-ROM, then use a disc duplicator to make the number of copies required. I'm wondering (A) if there is a duplicator available that can make the booktype change on each subsequent copy and (B) does that duplicator have capacity for mass production - i.e. 50 DVDs at a time.

Some how I know that if I've got the only burner that can do the booktype setting I'll end up just buring copies all day rather than doing my internship duties.

Thanks in advance for your help!

- Brian

Yes, I'm sure I didn't ask this question before. I did search for Duplicator and see that other forum, but unlike ddk25, I need a duplicator for legitimate reasons. The copies we'll be making are from our own mastered originals - not porn or bootlegged movies.

If I could highlight my original question again, are there any duplicators out there that can read the booktype setting from the original DVD and then copy that setting on to subsequent duplicates.
