Im a newbie to this and I was just wondering does anybody know how i can 1) Copy games for my ps2, im wondering what equipment i need. ive heard of swap magic and i wondered does it have problems. i'd also like to know how long it takes as. a guide on how to copy them and load them on my ps2 (slimline- its a v12) would also help.
2) does anyone know how to download ps2 games off the internet by using something like limewire. and of course, how to burn them.
3) how do i play imported games on my ps2, what i need and how i obtain it.
Help us out guys, please. thanks

I dont mean to sound like an ass, but all of your questions can easily be answered with a bit of research. Even on this forum, if you search out your topics, you'll find something. There's even a Guides section on afterdawn that could shed some light on things for you.

To copy, you're going to need a DVD Burner, plain and simple. If you dont have one, you're already a step behind.

To play the burned games, you can either get Swap Magic which is what a majority use or buy a modchip. Modchips take the pain out of it but are more expensive. Swap Magic can have problems, but its most always user error.... except in the case of a dual layered dvd.

Limewire probably does have some games, but I stay away from things like that because of the queue times and spyware associated with all those community P2P programs. Research bit torrent and enjoy.

How to burn them again can be answered simply by reading any number of the threads here. Get a program like DVD Decrypter or Alcohol 120% and you can burn them.

Imported games are no different than burned games. You have to either use swap magic or a modchip to get them to play. Obtaining them is a simple google search away.

Research. It'll make you more knowledgable for things you're interested in and take some of the lazy out of waiting for someone to spoon feed you all the answers.

Check out the website in my sig, it'll tell you what case mods you need to go along with the swap magic discs for ps2... without the case mods+swap magic discs or a modchip you won't be able to play backups/imports on your ps2.

internal is much cheaper than external
and is very easy to install yourself.
and more reliable for doing game back ups.
BenQ,Sony DRU,NEC, & Pioneer make some of the most popular
and widely used bunrers.
I do not know the conversion rate on the $$$ you put up there
but a good burner will run anywhere from $50-$120 USD

Basically you can get a decent burner in the UK for around £30, don't try to get a cheaper alternative as they will be crap.

I have an NEC burner myself and never have any probs with it... also good are sony,lg,pioneer.

Check out this site http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/
On there they do a lot of good stuff... especially the verbatim 8x DVD-R discs whcih have a Taiyo Yuden media code..very good discs!!

Don't forget about having the mods for your ps2 though... it's not good getting a burner etc if you can't play them on your ps2 system.

good luck
