@BaNaKa

It isnt that hard to do. I just use my webspace that i get from my ISP to upload the pictures to and then link them that way. Most ISP will give you some webspace to make a personilized homepage. You could even open up an Angelfire acount or geocities acount and upload pictures to thiere server and link the pictures to it. Lots of ways to do it. But you will have to upload the pictures to a site to link too. then once you get the pick uploaded type the tag to link it that simple.

ok, one other thing (referring back to my error screenshot) At the moment I just have a dvd burner and I read several threads and I ordered a LITE ON SOHD-16P9S rom drive from Newegg today so I don't wear out my burner. I already know where to get the firmware for the rom drive, now is it suggested that I update my firmware on my burner too or what?

Yes it is recommended that you keep the f/w current for all your optical drives.

In this thread, we show how to use paint program (included with windows so almost everyone has it)
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/259299
Once you have your screenshot set to the proper size, and any comments included, you just host the image. I use
http://imageshack.us/
once that host site has your picture, you just link to it here using the format listed before. (you cant do a cut and paste)
[*img]http://your image url here[*/img]
put your image host url between the brackets and remove the * from it. That's all there is to it.
Easy as smokin.. just remember to have img as lower case in those brackets. Imageshack gives an example, but you want the last url listed. I just go to it, doubleclick on url, right click copy, and go back to my post and place URL in between the img brackets. Just remember to keep pic width size to somewhere below 725 pixels wide or you throw off the AD site formatting, and everyone has to scroll to read after you post a wide shot. Using paint for screen captures is EASY, very easy. And sometimes a picture just does a better job of explaining things.
here is the url location you should use, if using imageshack to host:

It's not hard to do once you get the hang of it.

I use MWSnap , its free and you can get it here :

http://www.onlythebestfreeware.com/category.asp?category_id=19

One thing that was not mentioned about MS Paint , is that you can press the Print Scrn button in the upper right section of your keyboard. This has the same effect as cutting , in CUT and Paste , or COPY and Paste. Then you can open MS Word or MS Paint or whatever and then right click, then click on Paste to paste what ever was on your screen when you pressed the Print Scrn button, to that application.

PS I used MWSnap to grab the MWSnap info.

MWSnap is great for grabbing just the most interesting part of a post or website like below:

So in short:

1.] Use MWSnap or some similar program

2.] Plus http://imageshack.us/ or another hosting site

3.] Follow AD`s instructions for inserting an image:

4.] Will give you this:

BINGO!
Yes, i forgot to mention the way i get a screen capture is to do a ctrl+PrtScrn button. This captures the whole screen, open up paint, right click in the new image area, and do a paste. The you go thru the change image attributes in paint to reduce the size. Other than that, it is quick and easy.

@Maxburn - what program do you use to do those screen shots? How did do the editing part (circling the link in a red circle with arrow pointing to it)? I've been looking for that program. I've seen some awesome guides on here done the same way.

Thanks in advance,

Look in this thread about half way down alkohol posts a pic showing how to do the "fancy stuff" with paint. The program in most windows computers usually hides under start>all programs>acessories>paint
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/259299
Give it a shot. It is real easy to use, and works just fine once you figure out a few basic things, like that thread, and this one shows.

@Maxburn - I've played around in Paint and it seems pretty easy and fun as well but I have another question: why is the picture cropped when you resize it in the attributes? for example, I took a full screen shot but only 1/2 of it was viewable. Is there a way to resize it and keep the full screen shot preferably without losing quality? Thanks.

@newtechie
Most of the time i don't need a full screen capture, so i move what i want to capture to the upper left of my screen before doing the capture. I am sure you could run the full screen capture thru some picture size reduction program, but i don't know how to do it in paint. You might try that free program listed MWSnap as it may be able to do what you asked about. I never needed a full screen shot, and it would be too big to post here anyway. The main reason to use paint, is because it is quick and easy. For most things, you open a program,(that doesn't fill the screen) and move it to upper left of screen, open up part you want to show, and do a capture, change attribute so pic will fit, add your comments and drawings, save pic, and host at site. Anything else, and you are going to have to do some experimenting. I am at work, so i cant get back to this thread for a while.
