The error message that I am getting is that the game is to big to fit
onto a 4.7 GB dvd. It says it is over 8GB.

Any help to back this up would be appreciated as I don't want to have my friends trsh the original when they come over. Thanks in advance.

its a dual layer disc, search for a tutorial on how to rebuild the game to make it fit on a dvd-5

If you use a good mod chip then you can just back it
up onto another dual layer disc. If you use Swap Magic
then you will have to either cut stuff out to make it fit onto
a DVD5 single layer disc, or your out of luck.
