I have a rather odd question, but maybe someone can point me out in the right direction. I moved from the states to Switzerland about a year ago and have been using swap magic 3.6 in order to play PAL games on my NTSC V13 Playstation. Thanks to an increasing number of games becoming incompatible, I recently purchased a Matrix infinity for my Playstation 2, however I know I do not have all the needed hardware to install this and I do not wish to purchase more soldering hardware needed for a one time install. My question is, do you or do you know of anyone in Switzerland that does mod chip installation? Or is there a better solderless alternative for the V13 Playstation for playing PAL games? I have no wish to play backups or any other form of burned media, only original PAL or NTSC games.

Any help is appreciated!

you may just be able to by a converter for the TV
If not then i am not sure, the good solderless chips i know about,
DMS4 EZI Pro will only work with V4-V11
Are you setting the screen mode on Swap Magic manually to PAL
or just trying to load the game with it set to the default
of normal?

It isnt really difficult installing a mod chip!
Believe in URSELF, you can buy cheap soldering equipment, all you need is a soldering iron 15-20Watts, Flux, Soldering Wire, and Kynar wire for soldering the infinity to the motherboard. Minimum cost is around £20.

Yeah, I have tried all the options using Swap Magic, all my other PAL games work fine (usually under the PAL setting) games like Starwars Battlefront 2 and Lego Star Wars are the two games that seem to have the big issues. Battlefront 2 just does not work at all with Swap magic. I have lived with the quirkiness found playing other games with Swap Magic, but I have gotten tired of the quality that the Swap Magic offers.

I think I may give the soldering a go. If I have the chip I may as well install it right? I just need to find some Flux (its a bitch without the Flux). Thanks for your help guys. I will let you know how it goes.

Any suggestions on a good Flux brand?

It's your money, but i say don't do it yourself. It has
nothing to do with "Believing in yourself"
It has to do with technical skills, and if drop solder on you motherboard in the wrong place you will really screw up your PS2
does this look easy to you?

this guy really knows what he's doing or the wires would not be so strait and just the right length, an just check out all those tiny soldering points.
Try it if you like but you better KNOW what your doing first.
