Anyone got a good method for removing scratches from ps2 dvd disks? My Final Fantasy X has stopped working, it has a rather large scratch (not deep, but spread out, you know?).

Thanks

Disc Doctor is what most people use.
If that doesn't work you may just have to get a new copy

Disc doctor is effective, but it's $40. I got some motorized Memorex deal which buffs out surface scratches at Wal-Mart for $20. It helped my Breaker Pro boot from 60% to like 90% of the time.

There is also a liquid scrach remover that fills in the scratches. It'll harden and you won't be able to tell the scrach was even there. The down side is that if you put to much of it, it will leave a lump on your cd. If it is a big enough lump, it will make your cd out of balance. You can buy it for like 5 bucks. If used right, works awesome.

I don't know about europe, but in the states, there is a game dealer called Game Crazy, and most of their stores have a machine that will completely resurface you discs. It's way better than a disc doctor because it will not leave those ugly spiral scratches like it does. Call up your local game and cd dealers and see if they have one of those. It cost about 4 bucks and is worth it.

You could also do it the ghetto way... I used to do this when cds first came popular. You can get a lighter and melt the plastic to resurface it. It doesn't work that great anymore because the plastics are different now, but back then, that was the shit.
