madden 2006 freezing up in second season.....HELP

I am new to playing Madden.Here is my problem....Now that I am in my second season(superstar mode)the game freezes on the loading screen when I try to go to practice or game plays(before a new game)everything else works great.I can play a game,go to the performance institue,or anything else I want to,but not prctices.So now my players performance stats are dropping everytime I simulate a practice day.I have tried 2 different game consoles,and games.EA sports said to try pulling out the memory card before going into practice in my schedule.They said this is the only fix they have for the problem.Well guess what that didnt work.Any help would be great.

Is this a backup or original? Is the disc scratched or dirty? What about your laser?

I'm not real sure what you mean by back up or original but here the scoop.I rented the game first,when I got to my second season,thats when the practices and training camps started reading loading....So I checked the rented disk and it was scratched.Well this drove me crazy so I went to the mall and bought a new one.Same problem.I thought maybe it was a fluke so I started a new superstar.Last night I finished my first season,playoffs,madden bowl,superbowl,and pro bowl.When I got to the next season it was the same exact thing...I tried to start my first day of training camp and it goes to the loading....screen and stays there.Anyway I hope this helps you to help me.what is my laser and how could it be the problem?

Does this happen with any other games? I've had some issues with EA games myself, but I'm using backups. Backup means a burned version of the game, original means the original disc you bought. Try cleaning your laser with a Q tip and rubbing alcohol:
65. Q. I suspect my laser could be dirty. Should I use a lens cleaner or open my PS2 and clean the lens with a Q-tip and rubbing Alcohol?
A. Avoid the lens cleaners. They have the potential to scratch the lens making matters worse. The best strategy is to open your PS2 and clean the lens with a Q tip and rubbing Alcohol.

This is the only game that doesnt work correctly.It just seems weird that the complete first season of the game works great.I know a few other people that are playing the game but none of them have been to the second season yet.I dont unerstand how it can work fine for one season but not the next.

That's not really important. Try cleaning the laser. There is no exact science to the PS2, sometimes things don't work when they should, and do work when they shouldn't.
