Trouble with Lion King

Having some problems trying to copy my kid's Lion King DVD. I have used DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink to rip the files to my HD, compress using Shrink, and then burn with Decrypter. Problem is I was able to rip and compress the movie, but when I burned the ISO file, my DVD+R copy is useless! Wasted 3-4 blank DVD's on this already!
I have also tried using CopyDVD and AnyDVD, and the same thing happened with them!
Is this just one of those DVD's no one can copy?!
Damn Disney...

Are you saying it does not play on your standalone, or your PC? Does your standalone player play +R media, some of the older players do not.

If your burner supports booktyping you might want to bitset to DVD-ROM. I would think that it would play then. You may want to check your firmware version of your burner as well. Use the link for firmware updates in my signature block.

DL Nero 7 yesterday so been trying to see if all is working. Been having a little trouble with Decrypter and burning, kept getting error "cannot lock volume exclusive access denied" then "incorrect function". Just unchecked the box in iso write setting and all was fine, but never got it before. Not sure if it is the new Nero causing it because that is all that has changed. Tried to see if any program had a handle on the drive but nothing did, so I still figure it must be some Nero bug. The program has a few.

I think I did that movie years ago and I used DVDDecrypter and Shrink and had no problems. If you are burning using DVDDecrypter then could you post the log so we can look at it. I agree w/ what arniebear and 9mmruger1 stated. What is the blank media you are using?

Well, amazing enough, it finally worked for me. Used an updated AnyDVD, ripped the ISO file straight from DVD Shrink onto my HD instead of using DVD Decrypter, using deep analysis. Made sure my burner lens was clean and started burning, put it in the DVD player after it was finished, and Hakuna Matata, it worked!

@RUABUM - glad you got it sorted, though AnyDVD isn't required for any Lion King films, have dones them all with just DVD Sherink on it's lonesome
@arniebear - you're brave with Nero 7. i used to always use beta versions of stuff/new releases of stuff, but not anymore. hope Nero get the bugs sorted soon, there's a lot of 'em out there, good luck :)

When I fist started using Nero back at ver. 3 it was a tiny lizard, now it has turned into Godzilla. They streamlined the fact that you no longer have the option of the Mediaplayer or the Mixer but Showtime tries to take over and that Nero Scout program just keeps causing XP firewall fits, I just turned it off. I know someone stated on a thread how to get rid of it out of the registry, but I think I will just leave it off. And there seems to be some problem with Nero and skipping MP3's when you make a disk. Hope they resolve this one, maybe it is that I just got so used to 6 and by the time they put out 8 I will finally like this one.

Thank you for the compliment, but I figure as long as I have my trusty OS disk, I can always reformat. Considering 7 blows aways 6 and I am not sure Restore would work. Last time I used the Nero Clean Tool to get rid of InCD I ended up reformating my old computer because it did not work out.

i too love jumping into the fray with stuff, but dvd burning is such a pain in the proverbial, i use caution. i've just been trying to recopy some of my 500 Bulkpaq bad media does NOT pay-argh!!! with very little success. I always threaten to stop messing with those discs so if ever you read a thread by me saying i've been trying to recopy from the Bulkpaq's, feel free to report me for an 'offensive post' LOL
Anyway, back to my original point, i am very careful with dvd burning now, i love Nero Burning Rom but 7.x isn't going near my system now or in the future, 6.6.0.16 with be all i ever need as long as i don't change to a new burner that maybe isn't supported in 6.6.0.16 in the future..

You would be wise to stick with the 6 for awhile until as you said it becomes necessary. The new one is okay but unless you are into doing a lot of capturing media from TV or other sources 6 works just fine. If I had not spent the money I would have just stuck with 6 at this time I like it much better. The new one has the this Nero Media Home program that is supposed to do all this stuff I opened it and it takes up the entire screen, the task bar disappeared and I could not find the button to close it, ended up using the Task Mgr. Gawd I hate new programs.
