Hi everyone, I am new to the forums, although I have been looking at them for a while. I have just got my swapmagic dvd rom driver and cd rom driver and my slide card. I burned mk shaolin monks to a Fujifilm dvd-r (I burned the iso) and put my dvd driver swapdisk in the PS2, then I booted it up and used my slidecard to open the tray easily. I then press load program once I push the tray in but I get the Not a valid PS2 disc message. What am I doing wrong? I have also tried using my iso backups of Fullmetal Alchemist 2 and Inuyasha: Feudal Combat as well as a non-backup game but I always get the Not a valid PS2 disc message.. So what I'm asking is for some help please :). p.s. These Are NTSC.

Hey, what speed are you burning at and what method/software are you using....are you rebuilding the ISO before burning it....those are some the things you might want to look into if you're still having problems

I burned them all at 4x on a 8x dvd burner using Nero Burning Rom and I didn't rebuild the iso file.

which version of Swap Magic are you using, you may want to try rebuilding the ISO image before burning it. Try burning at a lower speed too maybe.

even using DVD Decrypter and burning at 4x or 2x or 1x I still get the same error message saying to insert a valid PS2 disc. Also the ISO file for MK shaolin monks was extracted from a bunch of part files (.001 to .056) using WinRAR and it is 3.25 gb there is a SLUS file not SLES on the dvd once burned (its NTSC) and I have the v3.6 NTSC version of swapmagic ordered from http://www.modchip.com/ps2/slidecard.php
I have tried multiple games and all of them give me this same error.
What could I be doing wrong? or What could be the problem?
I'm using fujifilm dvd-r's btw can anyone confirm they have successfully used swapmagic with this type of DVD-R? Is there a tool I can use to check my cds?

Some people have used Fuji film DVD-R's to back up games. Supposedly the ones made in Japan are decent. It's the ones made in Taiwan that are a little iffy. You may want to try a different DVD-R. Try Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, Maxell, TDK, or Phillips. Did you extract the first numbered rar file, first? I.e. If you had MK000.rar, MK001.rar, and MK002.rar, you'd extract MK000.rar first.

The first thing I would check would be how you are swapping the discs..
Using the slide tool is notoriously difficult.
Have you got ANY games to load yet using the slide tool... if not then my guess would be you're doing something wrong when using it.
I'm pretty sure that when you close the tray you have to lock it back into position again and a lot of people have problems with this.
test that out first to see if you're doing it right...then see if your discs work.

None yet, not even a non-backup game will work with the slide card. So you may be right. I wasn't aware that I had to lock the mechanism back into position, I thought that I could just push the tray in after inserting the backup game.

Locking it back into position can be tricky. After you've opened the disc tray with your slide card and swapped your backup, push the tray in manually as far as it'll go without resealing it. Once that'd done, you need to use the hook on the slide card to grab the tab and pull it back to the left, sealing the disc tray. There's a pic in this guide that will help. The guide is for making your own slide card, ignore that and just look at the pic that shows the positioning of the tab in the disc tray. http://home.earthlink.net/~moderator/id4.html#Creating

What type of DVD-R's are you using?
1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://www.angelfire.com/games6/easytutorial/dvddec/dvddec.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.
2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341 If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, etc.

the thing you probably did wrong is that when you turn your card to the right you feel a tab move..once you put your backup in and close the tray you need to bring that tab back to the left locking the tray in
