Is cutting scenes possible???

I've downloaded a few episodes of a tv show I like, and I usually use WinAVI to convert them into DVD files and then I burn those files with Nero...but sometimes when I'm watching these episodes, the picture will suddenly freeze...I can still hear the sound, but the image won't move. And these little glitches prevent me from being able to convert them into DVD files in WinAVI.

SO! I'm wondering if there is some kind of program that exists in which you can cut out little parts of movies that you've downloaded. If I can just cut out the little glitched parts (since if i skip the glitch before it happens the movie will proceed) I'm assuming that I will be able to convert them on WinAVI..

sorry for the long and complicated explanation. Any help is appreciated!!

Downloaded videos often contain errors. You may try check for and correct them with e.g. AviFixed before encoding (but be sure to back up the videos first):

As for encoding, you may also try use VSO (free version) to see if things are better:

The programs that you recommended don't really solve my problem...what I'm looking for is something that will allow me to cut out scenes from the middle of a fully downloaded movie

If you really need to do some splitting and joining of the videos, try Power Video Converter or Advance X Video Converter.
