hey sorry if this question was already asked but i just wanted to know if i use winhiip to format a hd would i need to use hdloader\advance just to transfer my saves over to the hard drive im not looking to install games to the drive or could i just do without it any help would be appreciated thanx.

I don't think you can put saves on the hdd only games, i could be wrong but i know WinHIP is only for games.

You cannot put save games on the hard drive of the PS2. Use can't use it as like a memory card.

ok but i read somewhere on this site that you could, not save directly to the hd but copy your saves to it from the mc

Nope, no game saves on the HD. Don't believe me: From official website: Can I use HDAdvance to store my saved games on the HDD?

Well what all can you do with the hd if you cant store save games on it, is the only thing you can do is put whole games onto the drive and if so do i need hd loader\advance or is winhiip all i need.

By loading games off the HD you save strain of your laser, speed up load times, and eliminate the need to have a DVD burner or burn DVD's. To transfer files from your PC to your PS2 you need a USB cable or USB extreme. There are are compatibility issues with a small % of games. HD advance and HD loader seem to work well by all accounts, most people are very happy with their copies and loaders. Winhiip formats your PS2 HD and allows for transfer of games from your PC to your PS2 HD. Here's some more info:

thanx alot and hey sorry about the memory thing i found out that you can only save games to the official ps2 hd and thats what i had read so sorry about that and that pretty much answers all my questions then thanx appreciate it.
