i have the reg. size ps2 and got it around this time about 3 or 4 years ago

how do i find out which version i have so i can know what mods to get so i can play back up games

On the back there is a serial number which should be something like SCPH-xxxxx, you can also start the Ps2 up with no cd/dvds and press triangle at the black browser screen and you will also see the SCPH-xxxx then have a look at this site to identify your Ps2 version :)
