Can Codebreaker codes be used with backups?

Hi, I use a no solder mod chip and swap magic. I know how to use my Gameshark codes with my backups but I can't get my Codebreaker to work using the same method. Is there anyway to get it to work. I put in the swap magic cd when it asks for the game but it doesn't load like the gameshark would. Only reason I am doing this is because Gameshark has been really slacking off when it comes to codes for Soul Calibur 3 and Codebreaker has them up.

I beleive they can be but that depends mostly on what your Modchip is.

No it is not a DSM4 its a no solder for my V4 PS2.

I am using a modchip. It is the type that is plugged inside the ps2 and doesn't require soldering

ok so tis like the DMS4 but not the DMS,is it upgradeable?
the DMS4 needs a new firmware in order to run a retail codebreaker 8+ with copied games
