Thanks for your help, YOBUZZB. I read the guide in the help section, it seems complicated, and I didn't see it says anything about copy audio DVD to CD-R, I might overlooked. Can you please tell me how you do it?

It is simple, they just make it look complicated. Pop in your DVD on your pc and play it as you normally would. Then open Audacity. In it you'll see a window to right of the microphone. Make sure it reads Wave Out Mix. If not then use the dropdown and change it to that. When you get to what you want to record From the DVD, just hit the red button (record) you'll see the wave signs come across the screen. When what you want has ended, simply hit the yellow square(stop). Hit the geen button(play) and you can listen to what you've recorded. From here you can edit it if you desire. You'll need to save it after your finished...click file then Export As Wave or Export As MP3 whichever you prefer. It will then want to know where to save it to, so you can just put it in your My Music Folder. That's it! Now you can play it, edit it or burn it using your cd burning proggy or do a number of things to it. Warning! Sometimes it changes the amplitude so the volume is really loud. Don't worry. It can be fixed during editing! Once you get into this, you'll see how much fun it is. You'll be so excited about all the different things you can do with this little proggy! You'll edit just like the pros and all for free!!! Stay in touch and I'll stay with you until you've got the finished product you want. Happy buring!!

Hi YOBUZZB,
I've got my finished product. Very excited! However, the sound of the finished product is not as good as the original. I don't know if that's the best Audacity could do or I didn't do it right.
For the dropdown window on the right side, there is no WAVE OUT MIX, just WAVE, so I picked STEREO MIX. And in the project menu, I picked NEW STEREO TRACK, 44100 Hz, 32-bit float. The input level meter on top of the microphone on the right side only showed movement on the top (L)bar, the bottom one didn't showed any thing even though my audio is stereo. When I exported the file as WAVE there is a pop up warning: " Project will be mixed down to two-channel stereo". One last thing, how do you use the effect menu, my is all grayed out.
Thank you so much, YOBUZZB.

Hey congratulations!!! Iknew you would find this as exciting as I did when I first started using it. Sorry I'm a little late getting back with you. OK this is what I was speaking of earlier in my post about editing. Here's the time when we can tweak our finished product. All you have to do is open your finished product in Audacity. With the mouse, point/click a marker at the very start of the wave pattern and drag to the end, highlighting it in gray. This should bring up the effects menu for use. This is where the real fun is! Wait til you start learning cut/copy/paste and crossfade various sounds and songs and even your own voice!!! It is sooo cool!!! Strange that you've got stereo sound but only one level was moving. I've not experienced that. Audacity doesn't give you 5.1 sound, so it will mix down to 2 channel stereo. Do me a favor and post the specs of your pc. Let's see if we can't get better quality sound for you! e.g. OS(WinXP Win NT Win2000 WinME Win98), CPU (Intel P3 or P4 or AMD Athlon, Duron) and it's speed, SoundCard. Pull up System Properties to find that info. You can see my PC specs in sig below. Also, check out that link from Soberfree. It's to another thread and other links that you might find useful as well. For me Audacity gives me all versatility I need and I haven't found anything else that does the same things better for "FREE"!!! Of course, there's better but you've got to buy it and it's not cheap!

Hi YOBUZZB,
I have AMD Athlon XP2500 1.8 GHz, 512MB DDR, 80GB HDD, LiteOn sowh 1673, Bio Star MoBo with intergrated sound and video, WindowXP Professional ed. SP2.
I found out the way to make both input level indicator bars moving. It's in file menu->Preferences->input, pick stereo.
I've tried DVD Decrypter, it also worked but quality of the finished product is not better than that of audacity. And between the two, I think I like Audacity better cuz it is faster for me.
Thanks for all your help.
