I've got a dvd from a guy that recorded some thingies with his camera and then burned em' in dvd format. Now I need to make use of this images but so i need to rim em'.
I tried A1 DVD Ripper but it only allows me to encode in VCD, SVCD or Uncompressed (I need DV quality but it hangs when it tries to encode to it)..
I tried encoding uncompressed but a 40 minutes clip took an hour and sized 80 gb, and that is not the idea.
Any advises on doing this fast and with a good compression?

I usually use VirtualDubMod with the Panasonic DV codec (http://users.tpg.com.au/mtam/software/pdvcodec.zip) to rip my DVD files into high-quality DV material.
