hi i use roxio and swap magic 3.3 for all my stuff. My problem is on a couple of games i recently downloaded it wont let me load past the swap magic screen. it said this is not a valid ps2 game.

on a diffrent game it took me past the swap magic screen but then it brought me back to the insert a ps2 game screen. plese help i dont know whats going on..btw i ran out of the other dvd disk i normally use so i was using maxell dvd+r disk for the games i recently burned.

sounds like you may have rebuild the ISO images before you burn it.

is there a diffrence between dvd-r and dvd+r when downloading games. Also does the brand maxell or maxell dvd's do something.

Nevermind i checked all the old games i burned and they were all Dvd+r...i don't know why it keeps saying this is not a ps2 game at the swap magic screen.

brand, +, -, your chip, your version ps2 all make a difference. It just depends.

General rule to be safe is try and stick with good quality brand DVD-R and burn at lower speeds.

Would it be more effective if i burn at lower speed? cause i usually burn at 8x.

depends on the speed of the DVD
If you burn an 8X DVD at 8X then yes.
Slow it down to 4X
If you use DVD Decrypter you can try setting
the booktype to DVD-Rom with +R discs. I have heard that
will really help out with compatibility.
as original games are DVD-Rom

original games are DVD-Rom
The discs i use to back them up on are 8X DVD-R (Philips)
I prefer the _R for all mine, some people like the
+R, i just did not have good results with +R
But i have not yet tried changing the booktype to DVD-Rom
with DVD Decrypter which i have read makes a big difference

by using the search feature to find the posts as it has
been written out plenty of time before
just search the word "booktype" and i am sure you will
find many, many posts that tell you how.
