I'm new to all of this so bear with. My goal is to have a ripped movie to play on with hard drive of my laptop with Windows Media Player. Assuming a movie is already ripped to the drive to VOB files. What do I have to do to convert and compress the VOB files to a resonable size like 600mg in one file and play it?

Also look for some XviD guides in AD's guide section. I have seen some impressive quality avis using this codec and they are around 1 gig in size for a whole movie.
