dvd drive wont open, samsung

i have a problem. my dvd drive to my xbox recently stopped opening. it is a samsung and i dont know how to fix this. any help would be appreciated. thanks!

Well, I have about 30 of the Samsungs (both types---Version A & B)that do the same thing....I've tried switching the eject motor with no luck

....As far as I can determine, it's a problem on the logic board, but I would also be very interested in someone explaining what exactly is wrong with the logic board (a chip?? --a resistor?? which one??) which will cause this problem (i.e., tray not ejecting)

.....By the way, I even tried to purchase the logic boards by looking on Ebay, calling Samsung distributers, and even Samsung directly, but no one has them for sale, and Samsung/distributers only sells the whole drive

Hopefully, someone will be nice and solve our problem

No kidding----just threw out a samsung-----with a good logic board???
(oh my......)

....Too bad, as you figured out, I have lot's of trays and if I looked, one of those tray's probably "has your name" of it (ha ha)

This may be dumb but you can manual eject. This might help for now till you can find or afford a fix. try llama.com http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/ejecting_dvd_drive_manually.htm

thanks for all the help, but one more thing... if i were to replace the drive for a cheap price where and what brand should i get. I know llama sells drives and so does xboxrepairguide.com. I just dont want to be paying 100+ for a drive whenever a cheaper brand may work. Thanks!
