yo people, sorry but I'm a noob lol I was researching on how to create the Ps2 reality media Player disk, but the problem is I can't find anything or unless I skipped something because like to be able to install the player to MC i need to boot it first or something right?

when I look at how DMS 3 looks like, Is it really installed into the mc? Man im confused lol

I justt need some clearing up, should i just put all the files into 1 .iso instead of trying to install it lol

If you want to install it on your memory card, there is a very nice program called The Independence Compiler offered by Aus Digital. You can get the application from their site: http://console.iscentral.net/news.php

There are some nice tutorials on the site aswell. I have a really nice flash file that i downloaded a few months back that expains in detail how the memory card exploit works. I will send you a PM before the end of the week for where you can get this video. It is pretty dated, but the basis behind it is solid.

I'm not sure how much you know about the memory card exploit, but i'll give you the gist of how it works in conjuction with a media player...

The memory card exploit is just a way how to load applications.
-It was discovered by some dude that when a ps1 game is inserted in a ps2, it will search your memory card for a file that matches the corresponding game. If the file is found it will be read and used (basically).
-The exploit replaces the file that the ps1 game is looking for with an application launcher.
-That's why when you put in a ps1 game, you have the abilty to do whatever you want.

The way this works with a media player is not only do you install a launcher on the memory card, but you install the media player application as well. When you first start up your exploit you need to define the locations of the apps that you will be running. Depending on which laucher you use, you could choose from memory card 0 or 1, cd drive, hard drive, or pen drive. The memory card exploit is great because it has a lot of flexability in those respects.

Also, I got another newbie question, It is basically What is the diff between NTSC and PAL games, What I mena is that If i have a NTSC ps2, I read somewhere that if you put in a PAL game the screen is black and white is that true?......Is that true even if the ps2 is modded, with lets say DMS 3?

Yeah it is true that you will get a black and white screen when you play PAL games on an NTSC PS2. It's a wonder that it will play at all actually. Click on the links that were created on your last post for NTSC and PAL. The difference in frequency or lines/frame is what causes it to be black and white.

Have you ever tried putting a refresh rate on your computer that was too high for your monitor to handel? Some monitors will go all crazy and others will just go black. Same pricipal.

I'm pretty sure that if you have a DMS chip, it will automatically convert the game to your console's native frequency. Most chips will do this too. Best way to find out is to go to the manufacturer's site for specs on the chip you are interested in.

What does the media player do??
The question should really be, "what does it not do?" ;)

A media player does just what it sounds like: plays media. You play videos, movies, music, and some you can even browse through pictures. If you want to find out more, you should do a search on the forums.
