Does GT4 work with HDAdvance 3.0?

I'm looking for any help with getting GT4 to work with my new HDAvance 3.0 software. I've apparently successfully loaded GT4 on the hard drive but it doesn't seem to want to run. I've loaded several other games as well that all appear to be working without flaw. Only GT4 seems to be giving me trouble! Any suggestions?

Hi, i also have got GT4 on my HDD, but used HD Advance 2.1, but i got HD Advance 3 today, so i will check for you.
Also, how did you get GT4 onto your HDD?
Did you rebuild the DVD, then burn it?
Or did you use a different way?

Ok, my version of GT4 works perfectly.
I followed a guide that made the video on the game smaller, then rebuilt the game, and burnt it onto a DVD, the size only now being 4GB (or there-abouts)[so that HD Advance could handle it!].
Then i used HDA 2.1 to convert GT4 to the HDD.
I just Used HDA 3. to boot up GT4, and it works flawlessly.
If you tell me the way you imported the game, i may be able to help you more.

First, Thanks so much for your reply! I loaded or imported GT4 by following the same steps I had done with all of my other games. Launch the HDAdvance 3.0 disc and select convert. I then insert the GT4 disc and all seems to be going well as I see the status bar on the lower part of the screen giving me the estimated time remaining until completion. Then when finished I reboot the PS2 and again launch the HDAdvance 3.0 this time selecting run for GT4 but fail to be able to play the game. Only the very first disclaimer screen appears but then nothing... just a black screen. I am not very experienced with burning games or changing file sizes and I don't own any other version of HDAdvance other than 3.0 but any additional suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, there is your problem!
You tried to convert the GT4 game straight from the PS2 Game disc to the PS2 HDD.
This isnt possible! - you need some help from your PC to make this one work!
I will give you the Guide on how to install the FULL version of GT4 on your PS2.
But, first, you need to tell me if your ok on opening your PC and putting the PS2 hard drive in the slave slot?

OK, well, i will post the guide here at about 4.30 today.
I am at 6th form at the moment, and dont have the informataion handy.

How to put GT4 onto your PS2 HD.
You will need 2 programs to do this, they are DVD Dycrypter, which can be downloaded here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_...
You will also need WinHIIP 7.3.1, which can be downloaded here: http://winhiip.ps2hd.com/
The download link is in the Top Left corner, you will, howerever, need to sign up to download it (its free, and there is alot of usefull stuff on the site).
1) Turn off your PS2, carefully take out the HDD.
2) Turn off PC, slot PS2 HDD in available slot (check the jumpers set to SLAVE)Connect DATA cable and power.
3) Boot up your PC, your PC will NOT recognise the HDD, this is WHAT ITS SUPPOSED TO DO!
4) Put the GT4 game into your DVD rom.
5) Use DVD Decrypter to make an ISO of the Game:
- Click "Mode" on the menu bar and then choose ISO --> Read.
-Click the pull down menu(*) to choose the source DVD Rom which you put the DVD-9/DVD/CD game in.
-Click the folder icon(#) to locate the destination where you want the ISO file to be put in.
-Finally, click the icon at the bottom(@). Then, the program will start to convert the DVD9 (GT4) to .ISO format.
6) Start WinhIIp. Now click the SELECT DRIVE button, and you should have a HDD named DRIVE 1 (PS2) Or simular. Select that.
7) Now click the ADD IMAGES button, and select where the image is, in this case it select ADD IMAGES's then a box will pop up, click add images on that too. Now browse op where you saved the ISO, and select it and click open. Now click START.
It should now start transfering the ISO to your PS2 HDD, and it will name it for you.
8) Turn off PC, remove PS2 hdd, install back into PS2.
Now, using HD Advance 3.0 select the GRANTURISMO4 file, and run.
Now you should have the full DVD9 of GT4 on your PS2 HDD and fully working!
This method can also be used for ANY other DVD9 or Normal DVD ps2 games! You can also send multiple games at once!

I have tried this method and I get no further that the initial disclaimer on GT4. I think that there is more to to GT4 than extracting the dual layer disk...
