I bought the 3.6 from www.swapmagic3.com and have had problems from the start. First the CD disk would not even work. I emailed them and they said to return it and they will test it. I mailed it out about 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything from them. I attempted several emails and finally they responded by saying they mailed one out (yeah, ok). Now I'm having problems with the DVD disk. My PS2 gives the "read error" message. I have to press the reset button several times before it reads it right. I contacted them again and they responded by saying it could mean that I have to clean my laser. Sounds good but the problem is that it only gives that message with that disk. Has anyone had this problem with the read error message before? Could it be my laser? How do I clean the laser?

I had the same problem, cleaned the laser, and it still didn't work. I contacted the company that I bought it from (www.modchip.com) and they sent out a new one within the week, and it works great.

More than likely you just got a bad disc and will have to try to get a new one from them.

Ya it sounds like their trying to give you the run around man. How did u pay for the disks? if u used paypal would suggest contacting them, their return policy is great and after paypal puts the pressure on them im sure theyll be more than willing to comply..

When I bought swap magic with the lid from the internet I had a problem right away with it. It seemed they did not put a pieace in the lid to hold the game down so the game would be getting all fucked up in there. Open you'r lid and on the top of you'r lid where there should be a circle type opening make sure there is a plastic piece in there to hold down your ps2. Hope this works

If your talking about that round white thing they arnt supposed to include that peice, your supposed to use the one thats already in your PS2 when you open the Drive cover,it pops out very easily.

the laser could use cleaning or adjusting.
But i have had discs that my older V7 just refuses to read
and i know the disc is just fine.
It has problems with the CD version like yours. And also with
the AR Max disc with the blue bottom, It completely refuses
to read it while my V12 reads it just fine. All my back ups still
work fine to so i just don't use a cheat disc if i ever play
on the V7.

in case you want to try cleaning or adjusting the laser
just make sure you take a pen and mark on the white cog thing
the original position it is in before you start adjusting in case nothing works and you have to put it back where it was.
