Some dvds that I copied using DVDshrink play just fine in my computer, but my actual dvd player plays them too jerkily for them to really be watchable.

I imagine it is because of the compression, however, what is it that makes my DVD player not wanna play them? I might buy a new, better one instead, I just need to know what to look for.

The one I have now is a Quadro 707PS, and it says it plays DVD/CD/MP3/CD-R/CD-RW

So, what's the trick, should it have some better specs in order to play the "dvd-shrunk" dvds? If yes, which ones?

Hi tinatoth
Welcome to the forum.

Couple of questions for you. What media are you using? What speed are you burning at? Are you putting labels on the discs.

Looks like your machine doesn't like DVD+/-R media. If your burner is capable of being bitsetted, you can se +R blanks booktyped to DVD-Rom. But if you want a cheap new burner try a Cyberhome from Wal-Mart. I think they run around 40 bucks or so...a buddy of mine has one and says it will play anything you throw at it.
