Hi, I'm a noob and i was wondering if someone might have an answer to my question. I'm Wondering if it's possible to load hdadvance onto the memory card and boot the ps2 directly from the memory card. I have a modchip and a hdd to get started. If this is possible, how might i go about doing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What chip do you have? Some chips allow you do direct boot into hdloader.

Aus Digital is the creator of The Independance Compiler. This is a tool that makes the memory card exploit easier to do. You can go to their site here: http://console.iscentral.net/news.php

There tutorials that you can read that are very informative. Search through Afterdawn's forums if you want to learn more about the memory card exploit.

Thanks for the quick response. I have the DUO 2 SE chip. I also am sporting the free version of hdadvance if this makes a difference. And as far as the exploits go, i haven't come across anything that talks about an exploit with a modchip and no flip top or slide trick.

This is what i got from the manufacturer's site: http://www.duomodchip.com/english/main.htm It says basically what the chip can and can't do.

I am a big fan of the memory card exploit. It is easy to do and works flawless every time. In your case, you could continue using your free copy of HDAdvance but you will be missing out on the upgrades to the loader. The memory card exploit allows for you to browse and safe files with ease. So if you want to save a movie to your hard drive, you can bring up your application launcher and safe the file to your hard drive without a problem.

If you did this any other way, you would have to load your applications via cd and you'll end up with a big mess. When new patches for hdloader are available, you can upgrade easily with a pendrive, where as if you were booting with a cd, you would have to make a new cd.
