So how hard is it really to solder a ps2. i am currently using the slimeline kit on my v12 ps2. after a while the backup of my games (Currently) it takes for ever to load and the sound just crashes. I know that it is not the backup that I am using because i have used it on another ps2 that is chipped and playes fine with no problems. That is why I want to know how hard it is to modify one and do the laser fix bug

it isnt really hard chipping it, but u need some skill with a soldering iron, do you have steady hands, some of the solder points are just mm away from eachover, so you need to be careful. If you are not confident then dont do it.

Well let this noob tell ya.

I installed a DMS4 today. I spent a total of about 4 hours. I had no idea I would be soldering to such small and crowded solder points. I have soldering experience, but I was having some trouble. I was sure that when I was done, I would be powering up a dead PS2, But NOPE! It worked! I'm going to start another thread with my experiences and what I would recommend for other noobs like myself.
