Quote: Brits: Pay a tax just so they can watch four channels
this went out of date in 1997
there are more than 30 terestrial channels, and if you get cable or satalite you get like 1000

Quote: Brits: Do not sing at all but prefer a large brass band to perform the anthem.

So in Britain do you have to buy a TV liscense? As in what if you just decide I'm not gonna even bother owning a TV(yes I know in this day and age it's rare but possible!)? I don't see the point of having to pay for TV because most of the stuff on it is crap!!!!!!

If you don't have TV then you don't have to pay for a TV license but if you do and they find out they take you to court and mega fine you and if you still refuse you get a nice 10x10 for a few weeks, we get forced to pay for the worst channels.
Quote: The annual cost (set by the Government) is currently £126.50. A black and white TV licence is £42

I assume you get some sort of cable over there(in England) so is that any good? Over here we get I don't know something between 50 and 100 channels and it's gonna soon by all through digital technology. I haven't looked at it properly in years but I know in the USA there's like 500 or so channels, what kind of channels are there?. I mean to fill that many!
