i used fab decrypter,,,,, then shrank it with dvd to one with only movie selected then i used DVD Shrink to burn it.

Ok, I got it to work!
I used AnyDVD along with CloneDVD2 and it worked like a charm. No problems at all. I am definately buying this software now!
I thought I was going to kill myself if I had to stare at the error msgs. any longer :P

I thought the folks at Slysoft specifically addressed an issue with DVD Shrink? I guess they need to do a little more work there. Glad to hear you got it to work though.

Good News, I was able to remove the encryption from Madagascar using DVD FabDecrypter with DVD43 running in the backround which created a DVD file. I then opened the file using Nero Recode2 "Remake a DVD" main movie only no menu. Which in this case was fine. Like someone else said the movie itself was relatively short but the addition of special features and movie previews used on the the DVD made for a complicated burn. I allowed for the burn process to include the added analysis. It then encoded or compresessed the files then burned sucessfully. I was happy to come to this resolve considering all the trouble I've read about backing up this film. Oh, I was also successful in completing a back up copy of "The Skeleton Key" using DVD43 and Nero Recode2. I simply created a temp file (Highly Recommended) movie only that includes the extras as normal and burning the film directly from the temp file created while the film ran from DVD-Rom optical drive. Again with success. I hope this helps someone else here who has had trouble backing up either film. Oh, did I mention I enjoyed both films..................:)

Did you know you can look at a dvd, and be able to see that it will be a `bit-h to crack through and shrink.Like monster in law or even madagascar.If you look closly on an dvd you can see lines through out the dvd,their not straight lines,their kind of curvy lines on it,,,,,,which results in hard movie to crack,,,,but then take an movie that is easy to get through compared to a movie like madagascar.And u will be able to see the differance trust me.so another wards take, Madagascar and say charlie and the chocolate factory and compare them. Charlie and the chocolate factory does not have these lines on it,,,like madagascar has.

Okay this is going to sounds really wierd. First I tried DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD. I got everything but the mopvie on the hd. Tried DVD Fab Xpress. Got Errors in Shrink. So I opened AnyDVD, Then opened the DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 then opened the original dvd in my drive and just ripped the movie to the disc. BUrned it using Nero and voila!! Never ever worked like that before but give it a try works great!!

i just finished backing up madagascar with shrink and region and css free runing in the back round. did a reauther also took 21 min came out fantastick

Hey everyone, I managed to back up madagascar, but only the movie. This movie is a dreamworks movie.....I am wondering if anyone was able to back up the entire disc...the special features are really neat...I would like to have them too. I hane AnyDVD shrink decrtptor DVD43 and it took a long time just to get the movie without annything else. I'm stumped. HELP!!!

Also, war of the worlds is a dreamworks and paramount movie. This one is also giving me trouble. Decryptor can't do it.It gets stuck at 92% Shrink gets to about 92% and fails...i can't even do just the movie. I assume dreamworks has some new protection. Does anyone have any ideas????

did you get madagascar or war of the worlds. I tried doing wotw with colnedvd2 and it stopped at 92% I don't get how you did it, if you did.

Pazzini is right on the money. I was having trouble with MADAGASCAR and I read this thread (great site by the way).
Pazzini said just download the trial version of AnyDVD and clonedvd2 and go. I did just that and, not really knowing what I was doing made a perfect copy of MADAGASCAR with menus. Quality looks good to me. I left out some of the stuff we don't watch anyway.

Hi,
You guys are sometimes have to try the simple way. Just did it with two different PC and two different disc (both are madagascar), and both have no problem.
Use decrypter to create ISO, Use Shrink to read from image disc, burn that iso from shrink with decrypter again.

Has anyone backed up war of the worlds? I did madagascar, but as i said before I couln't do the full disc, just the movie would backup. This war of the worlds is not going for me. I have tried shrink alone, with DVD43 with AnyDVD decrypter then shrink, clone2, i tries shanging start/stop frames in shrink with just the title movie...nothing is working. every program fails at 92 or 93 percent. HELP !!!!

Just wanting to share how I did it. Picked up Madagascar today and used Intercopy 3 for movie only (work great! I know shocker especially with inconsistency of that prog.) I also used Recode 2 and it work great as well. The strange thing is Stealth, I made one backup using Intercopy...after it starts it stops or pauses on a blank screen...so I went to Recode 2, it would open the disk, so I thought shrink...it open the disk, I snip out the blank screen...burned it and it is perfect. What's up with the blank screen...is it something new that sony is trying. It's like Disk 2 to SW3, I found the prog that would allow me to copy it and it works perfectly. I guess it pays to have several options at your fingertips to make backups...and it is kind of nerve racking. I know you guys and gals ususally hear me as not having any problems but today has been a strange one with these new movies. Again, I learn so much here at AD that I just go down the list and find what works. Thanks ad!

This was a great help. I used DVD Decrypter (note: If you don't have the latest DVD Decrypter version, Madagascar has an automatic trigger that shuts DVDDecrypter down after it is identified. Get version 3.5.4.0)to decrypt the files.
Then I used VOBBlanker (that I just downloaded) and it went in and scrubbed the VOB files of the errant bits (all automatically) and then used DVDShrink to shrink and burn, using Nero. For those new to VOBBlanker, it is going to essentailly copy your decrypted files to another "target" folder.
So you are going to end up with a cloned folder, but the new folder will be "pollution free". Then you'll use DVDShrink (or other program of your choice) to compress and create burnable files.
Definitely an extra step involved, but it went smoothly and seemed to cure what was a perplexing problem.

I did this with CloneDVD and AnyDVD Movie only English audio and subs with no compression using a single layered +R worked great I will have to try Shrink or Recode though

DVD Shrink 2.2 open the disc.....choose reauthor, drag title 18 into the new section, select start/stop and pick chapter 3......back your way up to the start of the movie and click ok.....Backup to where you want... WORKS LIKE A CHARM........... However, only gives you the movie....... Older version is easy to find online and its a one step deal......

I successfully backed up the entire Madagascar disk utilizing Pinnacle Instant Copy and DVD43 w2ith no problems.
I washaving a lot of problems using DVD Shrink and triedjust about everything. Im not too new to this, I just have my own methods that i know work and when I couldnt getthis to copy got very frustrated so I started using every methodI could think of.
I was abletodecrypt the movie onto my hard drive using DVD Decrypter butdvd shrink kept giving errors when tryin to open it.
I dabbled with vobblanker and ifo edit but dont know what the heck i am doing with them. I did download DVDFABDECRYPTER but still no luck.
Finally I went back to the software I started with Pinnacle Instant |Copy. |I found that still truing to open the files that DVD Decrypter put on the hard drive were unsuccessful, so |I chose to open DVD43 in the background and have Pinnacle instant copy read from one dvd drive and writeto the other dvd drive.
Works fine menu's and all. Only problem is it took forever to copy, oh well at least it copied something for the computer to do while I sleep.
Well on to the next problem disk STEALTH. Same problems, so im using the same method.

got this and stealth to work by opening the disc in DVD Shrink with AnyDVD runing, then re-authored the movies for just the main movie.

ok i got war of the worlds to work, stealth, skelton key to work as well, using dvd decrypt + AnyDVD + shrink + Nero 4 burn...
but i cant get this crappy madagascar to work.. but now i amd going to try out the dvdfab + AnyDVD + shrink, if not that than i guess i'll go dl clone...
