How many cosigns does coffeedog need for people to try his method out. It works perfectly for the whole DVD. Use VOBblanker after Decrypter then use DVD Shrink.

Coffeedogs method works well for Madagascar. I used dvd decriptor followed by VOBBlocker and used DVD Shrink to compress and make the DVD. It took about three hours to do, because it had to encrypt the files but it made a good copy. Thanks for the heads up.

They have released a new version of DVDFab Decrypter. It fixes the "Madagascar" issue. This is taken from the change log in DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.5.8:
Quote:
"2.9.5.8 (11/18/2005)
- Change: Added support for a new protection as found on "Madagascar" (US).
It's not a Sony movie, but the protection is almost same with Sony ARccOS."

Make sure you uninstall your current version of DVDFab Decrypter before you install this version!!

You can get it here: DVDIdle.com/free.htm" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.DVDIdle.com/free.htm

Madagascar region 1 is a tough backup test but I took it on as a challenge and figured it out within a few days.

STEP #0 - Turn off AnyDVD v5.5.4.1 &/or DVD43 v3.6.2

STEP #1 - Run DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0
Mode->File
Tools->Settings->General (Removal Method = Aggressive)
Tools->Settings->File Mode (Select Files = All, Remove IFO PUOs)
Tools->Settings->CSS (Brute Force -> I/O Key Exchange)
Tools->Settings->I/O (Software Read Error Retries = 0, Ignore Read Errors)

- Decrypt the DVD using File->Decrypt
- You'll see information such as:
1% - DVD Decrypter - 114 files remaining
13% - DVD Decrytper - 101 files remaining
14% - DVD Decrytper - 97 files remaining
16% - DVD Decrytper - 93 files remaining
24% - DVD Decrytper - 85 files remaining
31% - DVD Decrytper - 82 files remaining
36% - DVD Decrytper - 81 files remaining
47% - DVD Decrytper - 81 files remaining
51% - DVD Decrytper - 80 files remaining
72% - DVD Decrytper - 79 files remaining
93% - DVD Decrypter - 45 files remaining
- Near the end, at the first error, press "Abort".
DVD Decrypter
Brute Force Cracking Failed!
Device:[1.0.0]HL-DT-ST RW/DVDRW MSS-2211U 0011 (E:) (ATA)
File Name: VTS_16_1.VOB
Reason: There were no vulnerable blocks.
- OK this error message (you have no other option).

- DVDD will continue to 100% popping up a form saying:
DVD Decrypter
Operation Successfully Completed!
Copied 115 files.
Skipped 0 files.
- OK this message (you have no other option).

STEP #3 - Run VBO Blanker 2.0.1.0

STEP #4 - Shrink the main title using DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15

STEP #5 - Burn to DVD disc using any DVD burner software

I forgot to write down the steps using VBO Blanker but they all were pretty obvious.

Hey, what I did, I was having trouble also, I used DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0., then I used an older version of Shrink 2.3, then Nero 6 to burn, I only burned the main movie, worked great for me.

Slysoft did the trick for me with AnyDVD 5.5.4.1 and CloneDVD2. I tried with an out of date version of AnyDVD and had trouble with Madagascar as well as Stealth and The Devil's Rejects. I updated AnyDVD and all worked flawlessly.

Also, I saved 25% on AnyDVD with the code of "afterdawn". Also, AnyDVD comes with lifetime updates. This could not have been a more simple fix.

hi, i complete the backup of madagascar by this way:

Open Any DVD 5.3.2.1 with CD in the drive and let open background

Open VOB Blanker 2.0.0.2 and select input folder as your drive with cd. to select output folder, create a file on your hard disk then select process directly in the file you create.
After process terminate put a new DVD in your drive and execute DVD Shrink 3.2 you have just to select the file on your hard drive.

work perfectly

best regards

i did Madagascar effortlessly last night with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.0 (free) then Shrunk with DVD Shrink as normal. what i did do was use my dvd-rom/cd-write combo drive (like io do for most of my ripping); didn't try to rip it on any of my dvd burners as i'd done the movie already but it's always nice to have a couple of optical drives..as if a movie won't play ball on one drive you always have a choice of drives to use..

A friend of mine doesn't have AnyDVD, so i was able to rip this by using DVD Decrypter to extract files to HD, then ran VOB Blanker on those files. Opened files VOB Blanker made with Shrink, and it worked fine. He had DVD 43, and i made sure that was turned off for this project. I posted a screen shot of VOB Blanker before.. let me see if i can find that;

So, if you don't have AnyDVD, and want to rip this movie, all you need extra is VOB Blanker.
BTW this method gets the whole movie, extras and all.
