an exploit is a method that allows you to run homebrew applications on your Ps2 due to a flaw in the OS, normally a user will make an exploit cd using something like IndependenceCompiler which is the best method to create a cd that will install certain files onto your Ps2 memory card which you then access using a Ps1 games (it triggers the flaw in the code and loads the elf files which are applications) there's a few things you can do like0 install a hdloader to load a hard drive or you can install an elfs that will allow you to watch avis or listen to mp3s or even format your memory card oh and you also get elfs that allow you to FTP from your PC.

Em not really sure but if you have action replay then you could install the exploit using a USB pen but other than that am not too sure.
