Hi, i have a problem with my modded PS2(v7). I can play for 20-40 minutes and then it turns off... When i turn it on again some games dont work. When the console cools off all games work but again i can play for only 20-40 minutes, and the it turns just off again and the red light is on the reset button!
Does someone know how can i fix this problem!!??

Yes the fan works. I cleaned the console and the lens to, but it did not help...

does it have a laser fix, or just a mod chip?
laser fixes shut down the PS2 to prevent damage when it is
"thought" to be overheating.
other than a heat issue i have no idea why it would do that
a V7 should not need a laser fix but i thought i would ask

I dont know does it have laser fix or not... But after the console shuts down the reset button doesnt work for some time, only the eject button works, and it doest play games it says: Pleas insert Playstation or Playstation 2 format disk.
I have no idea what could be wrong...

I really think your modchip has a overheating protection, and by a way thatI don't know, your ps2 is getting too hot, and the protection shuts down your console. That's the only thing I see. Now search the reason of overheating....

Do you stand your PS2 up or do you lay it flat, if its flat what is the surface you place it on?
How long has it had the chip in it for, if this problem only started after you had the chip installed, then its either a faulty chip or overheating problem. Overheating is unlikely if the fan is working correctly.

I think if you have checked the fan and it's working, and has been cleaned, it may be the chip directly.
open the case again and stick the machine under a fan. See if continues to work thereafter. If so then it is definitely the chip. could be a bad chip, or bad installation of the chip. Checked the placement of the chip. Make sure it's not in a bad location or touching something else. If it's a chip that required wire soldering then you may want to make sure that the job was cleanly done. It could be shorting out on something else. Other than that, I don't know. I have NO-Eye-Deer.
Think, and Ye shall know!!!
