okay I have the same problem with a few different games but since path of neo is topic okay... I get the same green screen and no further. I have tried on phillips DVD-R, imitation DVD-R, and memorex DVD-R. and still no solution. I finally got EA Madden o6 to play but it only played once.

Phillips=okay, Memorex and Imation=Horrible. Get better media. Always use DVD-R's when burning PS2 games.

1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://www.angelfire.com/games6/easytutorial/dvddec/dvddec.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.

2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341
If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, etc.

Same as the good brands for the DVD-R's. Any of those should work fine.

Nope don't have it. It got crap reviews on all the sites I checked, plus the last couple Matrix movies blew, in my oppinion. Are you using a modchip? Good modchips like the Matrix Infinity or DMS 4 have green screen fixes built into their most recent firmware. Try it on some good DVD+R's and see if the problem persists. Oh and Fatso. I just burned Madden 2006 yesterday. I rebuilt it with Nero and Isobuster and burned it at 2x. It runs flawlessly, not a single skip. I have a Matrix Infinity, but I rebuild EA games, they seem to give my PS2 a rough time. I had to rebuild NHL 2006, NBA Live 2006, and Madden 2006, to get them to work correctly.

11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949
With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515

Yeah I think the media is most likely the problem. Good Luck.

What speed did you burn the rebuild at? Try burning it at 2x. Also since you're using SM 2.0, you should try using Zoneloader or DVD Loader which can be found here:

12. Q. I have Swap Magic 2.0 and game X won't work, what do I do?
A. Check here to see if there's a fix: http://swapmagicfix.com

Q. Where can I find CD Loader, DVD Loader, Zone Loader,or Cogswap Loader?
A. http://swapmagicfix.com/

Tokijin thanks for all the info, i will definitely try what you said. Okay to me it seems the problem is there are so many different ways to burn, rebuild, patch, games etc. I did several different madden 06, on imitaion, phillips, and memorex. burning the ISO and MDS file. The MDS file on a imitaion works periodically, burned at 2X. The ISO burn did nothing. used Alcohol 120, Nero, and DVDecryter. I have read that burning at 4x will give better results. As far as matrix, i get to the green screen and it just moves, never loads completely. So i have come to a conclusion, its the burner and media I am using. I rebuilt Madden 06 according to tutorial and it did not even boot. Using swap magic 3.6. So deleted all games until can get a better burner and better media. But I am just going through to many disk with no good results. Alcohol tends to give better results from ones i did do. When i get better media and better burner, will post back.

Which version of Madden did you download? I believe I have the solops2.com one. Definitely get some better media. Phillips is okay. Memorex and Imation is terrible. You said you tried many different ways to burn Madden. I wasn't sure if you tried rebuilding.

10. Q. What does rebuilding an iso mean?
A. It means that some games 4.36-4.38GB's may need rebuilt to work with Swap Magic. Games over 4.38GB's will need rebuilt. This isn't true for ALL games over 4.38GB's and differs on a game to game basis. There is no need to rebuild games if you have a modchip.

11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949
With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515

The Matrix has caused a lot of people trouble. I've been trying to help other people with it as well. Maybe it's just a bad DVD rip, like someone suggested to me before. If you really can't get it working, you could always rent it and copy it or something. I know people have backed up originals, maybe it's just the downloadable version that's ghetto. Try rebuilding the Matrix as well.

I know one was the solop version and also the orgasm version. I rebuilt solop version using cdvdgen tutorial and nothing happened at all with games. when i burnt directly(no rebuild) it played occasionally. 2 out of 5 times. So i figure it is media and burner that is causing problem.

Well the Phillips is okay, just get rid of the Imation and the Memorex. Normally I'd agree it's the media, but this game has caused many people problems, maybe more so than any game I've ever seen on these boards. I think the DVD rip over BT is just crap. People seem to have had no problems with backing up an original, only the download version has been troublesome. If you really want to get a copy of this game rent it or get a 10 day free trial with gamefly.

Yeah that is a problem too. I ripped Tony Hawk: American Wasteland and it plays okay after a little skipping when the game comes on. I used Phillips for that one. Now should i burn that one slow or fast, well it really doesnt matter. I can only go at 1x or 2x, LOL. but for futre reference.

Tokijin, I have rented the original Matrix PON yesterday and on my second attempt to burn it (1st attempt: Alcohol 120%, 2nd: DVD Decrypter, using Ritek +R at 4X speed both times), I decided to check out the web for some clues as to why both copies get stuck on the green screen although no errors have been reported during either backups. You mentioned that people have no problem backing up the original version? Could you please point me to the correct place on the web to get instructions on how to do that, thanks a lot. (I use Swap Magic v3.6)

Well I think they burned at 4x with DVD Decrypter. This game has no dummy files. Try burning at 2x on the Ritek's. If that doesn't work, rebuild it:

Well that is the exception rather than the rule. Burning at full speed on cheap DVD-R's isn't going to help anyone in the long run. Burn at 2x or 4x on an 8x DVD-R. I use Taiyo Yuden myself. Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, and Ritek are all good. You can get great deals on these at http://www.supermediastore.com
