I am a newbie and admit I know way too little about this, so bear with me please!

I have a movie on dvd that I made that is a CDFS file, I used Cute DVD and this is what I got. How do I change it into something that will work on my tv? What program do I need? I keep downloading software and now I think I have too much of it and dont quite know what to do next.

Thanks for your patience.

The program that I use almost exclusively to burn my downloaded movies is NeroVisionExpress3, all you have to do is open NVE3 and drag files into window and burn, you can download a free trial from this link http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/nero-up.php you only need to download PACKAGE2. No conversion is needed in most cases NVE3 will attend to that, try it and let us know how you go.

I have Nero Vision Express, got all the updates yesterday for it, so I will give it a try. What impressed me with Cute DVD was the speed with which it burned the movie, it was done in under 5 mins. Nero takes way longer than that for me, which is frustrating.

Thanks, and I will let you know how it goes. The chief problem I have is the ones that I have burned with Nero dont look very good on the tv, they are washed out, the colour is not anywhere near as nice as on the computer, do you have any thoughts on how to fix that?

Thanks

You will find that ALL movies look better on comp due to the small screen, the wider the screen the wider the picture is stretched.

I read on one of the forums here that someone make movies that look just as good as the ones you buy in the store. I'd be happy with 75% of that! The colour is the main thing, they look so pale, Wallace and Gromit is close to black and white for the most part, yet it's quite colourful on the computer.

I really dont want to have to sit in front of a computer to watch a movie!

Thanks

The quality of your movie shouldnt vary if you are copying from an original however the quality of downloaded movies rarely reach that quality

That does make sense. When picking a movie to download, what resolution should one look for? I tend to go for the ones with the most ***** beside the title.

I think you will find that means that particular movie is the most downloaded, not necessarily the best quality, try and look for DVD rip movies, they are straight from a DVD

AH! That makes sense too. I am showing my ignorance here, thanks for being patient. What file extension should I be looking for when choosing what to download? Or does it matter? How do I know if a movie has been ripped from a DVD?

Thanks

If a movie has been ripped from a DVD it will show as DVDrip its hard choosing, some I have are excellent quality whereas others a virtually unwatchable also some people take delight in incorrectly naming a movie and you dont get what you want...I always stay clear of any ZIP, smarties always seem to load a virus with it.

hahahaha, I've had that happen. Batman Begins was really the Ray Charles movie which I already had. It's a damn good clean copy of it too :-) another Batman Begins is really some horror movie, not sure what. So I have learned to check them early on to see if they are what they claim to be!
