confused plz help... DVD to CD

I am have looked at the guides and downloaded the stuff and tried to use it. Is there a simpler way of getting a DVD on to a CD or can someone give me simplified instructions.

because I don't have a DVD Burner....unless I can burn DVD using a CD Burner but I didn't think you could.

its a long and involved process but you cant burn a dvd to cd in the usual sense. but you can rip it to your hard drive and then use TMPGEnc encoder to create a VCD over 2 to 3 cdr discs.Have you got 30 hours to spare.

i talked to my friend and I realized that it would probably wasting my time.... so i am just going to get a DVD Burner for X-mas... though if u could tell me what is the differnce between double layer dvd burner and a single layer that would be helpful...and which one would be better to get? Thanks

creating vcds from a dvd isnt a pointless exercise as it shows you what you can and cant do.Sure its an involved process but it benefited me to the degree that i now burn dvds without many problems if any.

The difference between a dual layer and a single layered disc is:

single layered disc holds 4.38 gig of info (i know they say 4.7)
dual layered discs holds double that of a single layered disc.

As to a burner get a dual layered one.It will be able to burn to both single and dual layered media.

i have tried a pioneer and currently am using an LG without many problems
