The BENQ lightScribe16X looks really good. I like the labeling feature. Is there any down side to this Burner?

I bought a BenQ1625 from NewEgg for 57.00 and it works very well no problems burning and the lightscribe feature works well too. Hooked it up and the computer recognized immediately. For the price you cannot beat this drive. It comes with Qsuite and you can booktype your media. Very nice little drive.

Can you only use LightScribe DVD+R with the LightScribe burner or can I use any brand?

You can use any brand, I use Verbatim and as for +R the BenQ will booktype those to DVD-Rom with no problem. My +R will pay on my Panasonic and Toshiba players that only accept -R format.

You can only use the lightscribe feature with lightscribe discs. But just to burn the movie, as arniebear said you can use any kind of blank.

ok what do i convert them too, to get them onto a disc? Does it matter? Do i use DVD Decrypter or what. Under destination It says NO WRITERS DECTECTED. does this mean my DVD WRITER isnt connected properly or do i have to find it? THanks
