Copying PS2 files from CD to DVD based disk!

Our PS2 does not want to play CD-R based games anymore for some reason since we had it chipped! How can I go about copying the files from CD to a DVD-R? I've tried ripping them from the disk to the hard drive and using NERO to burn to DVD but I mustn't have the format right as they won't load. The disks I'm trying to rip are copied CD-R's not originals. If I use NERO to burn to a DVD-R, which option of DVD do I need to choose? I've tried DVD-ROM(ISO) and DVD_ROM (UDF/ISO) but they will not boot! Can someone please shed some light on this because I got the kids some games from Bali and the cd based ones won't work on their PS2, though they will on mine! Thankyou.
