i have 2 dvd burners is there a way i can read with one burner and copy with the other please help

Can you explain a little more? Are you wanting to "Burn on the fly" or just burn with one drive and use the other?

you cant burn on the fly as the dvd needs to dump files on your hard drive in a temp folder before it burns it back to your blank dvd.

You can however put the source disc in one burner and a blank disc in the other and once the reading process has occurred the burning process will occur with out you changing discs.

Another option is to get a dvd rom and then you will be able to utlise burning 2 discs at the same time, while the source disc is in the rom drive.You might want to have a look at Alcohol 120% it supports this action

I copy on the fly from time to time on those small DVD-5 originals using Nero or sonics disc copy feature.15 min copies.It's risky,but I like to pow around from time to time when I get bored.If it has to be compressed,I don't know if it can be done on the fly?

Here's some tips:

Clean/defect free original DVD-5.You can probably do DVD-9 to dual layer. 1:1 copy,no compression.

Background ripper like DVD43 or AnyDVD. Most programs like nero/sonic/roxio can't remove encryption.Background rippers can,and no extra steps.AnyDVD by slysoft is my choice.Excellent ripper and updated regularly.

Quality media.Don't use the cheap stuff.

4x burn speed.Nero won't allow me more than 4x speed,probably due to my drives being on the same ide channel.4x is safe burning though.

For the safer,using one to read to hard drive and other to burn: No problemo. DVD Shrink and Nero for me.Insert original in one drive/set burner as backup target and set it/forget it! Very convenient.
