Could someone recommend DL media from the following I have the option of Datasafe(ritek D01) or datawrite(cmc mag D01),normally I would use Verbatim but at nearly £4 per disc they are pricing themselves out of the running.

The Ritek is going to be the best of those two, but ppl still have problems with them. I don't know if BB will ship overseas, but they have Verb DLs on sale just like nitrox11 posted. At 4 pounds per disc, that makes them somewhere around 8 bucks each..Ouch! When they are down to $2.00 each, you can start using and experimenting with them, but at those prices you quoted.. I would be afraid to have any failures and would burn at -4x if it would let me..

@sintar hi :)
RITEK D01 2.4x D/L
i use nothing else and have no issues at all.
your firmware must be up to date on your drive.
use DVD Decrypter in...read then write mode...and you'll end up with a near perfect copy
you can buy ritek d/l at....www.svp.co.uk for £2 a disc

I hope ppl noticed i said minus 4x as a joke. I burned Apocalypse Now Redux on a Verb DL at 4x and it came out fine. The media said i could burn at 6x, but i think 4x was going fast enough. Playback is perfect. First few tries i would recommend no higher than 2.4x and you could bump up the speed if you feel lucky.

Hi gurnard!
He is only blasting the discs, he spares the ppl. :) Endless supply of ammo too. Gonna need it with all those CMCs out there.

LOL...i was laughing so hard when i repeated that in my head and outloud~ :)

but, yes, just wanted to contribute to gurnard's comments about Ritek DL media..i too have had a LOT of success with them and with my recent "spree" of Verb DLs, im a happy camper in both brands, i would def. steer clear of the Memorex brand..and Philips too...Philips has got to be one of the WORST media manufacturers out there, personally, i rate them WORSE than the dreaded CMC MAG discs.

since the Verbs are out of your budget, stick w/ the RitekD01s...good luck
