I got the 3 piece slim kit for my ps2 slim...and components A, and B, go in fine..but the silver gaurd is blocking component C. I Tired to file down the plastic on the right of the metal blocker, so that i can push the metal blocker to the side and squeeze it down...that worked..i got component C in, ... but it doesnt work, i dont thing its going down far enough, and i dont want to damage anything...i've realised if i remove the metal block that component "C", will not stay there because i've filed down the piece where it conects too...I've put myself in a shit hole and need to get out, Please Help !!!
Right, first of all you shouldnt of filed it down, u were ment to kind of push it in at a angle, u have actually screwed up the case. What version is ur slimline?
You might need to open the console, and just put some insulation tape on the switch instead bacause it will be difficult to fix the plastic.

See, the reason i bought the slim kit in the first place is so i wont have to break the warrenty seal..my old ps2 screwd up for no reason so im paronoied about this one...but i suppose now that ive filed down the plastic it wont metter huh...Oh well...
So your telling me i can just open the ps2 and, they'll be a switch or sumthing to tape down?..and that will take the place of component C?..
Yes, thats what i have done to some elses PS2, so it should work with yours, just remove the screw covers and grips on the bottom of the console and remove the screws, lift the left side of the shell up first then carefully pull the right side off, then you will see the switch at the back.
http://www.pstwoswap.com/backsensor_01.jpg Check the pick thats what the sensor should look like, u dont need to remove anything, just put some insulation tape on it, make sure you use INSULATION tape, and tape it down properly so it doesnt come of after some time.
thanks, ill try my best not to screw up the thing. but one question...why would i have to use insulation tape?...how about electrical tape or maskin-tape?..just curious
electrical tape is what i call insulation tape, it doesnt short anything, thats why u need it, dont use masking tape it wont stick for long because of the heat, but the same will happen with the electric tape so u will have to tape it down properly.
