I've go a newer PS2 slim that accidently got knocked off my desk but didn't fall far. Now it will play some games (SW: Battlefront 2) but not others (Madden 06, NBA live 06). Model :SCPH-70012
I've looked around the web but mostly just see information for fixing/adjusting the olders PS2's and that really doesn't help me much due to the differences. I've tried swabbing the lense to clean it and no help. I really don't want to open it without more information as I'm not sure what i'm doing or looking for. Anyone know a good site that shows Slims or have any good advice?
Yes "steimy" is right, if it is knocked out of position most of the time the ps2 makes squeky noices when reading the disks which presumes that it is not moving properly.
Well, it will load NBA LIVE and such....but it locks up and/or is very slow and basically doesn't work...like double the normal times of everything and when acutally playing it's in slow motion.
If it locks up then it means the laser is knocked out of position, it is unable to read certain areas of the disk so it keeps trying to find it but it cant so it just freezes, you will have to re-align the laser, check on google and see if you can find anything, im not sure how to sort this out on v12, u might have to buy a whole new laser unit if u cant fix this.
