Hi everyone,
I too am new to ripping/burning dvd's, and just wondering if the brand of burner could be alot of the reading/burning problems that alot of people are having?
I have the lg-4167b dvd burner, and all the movies that everybody seem to have problems with burning and or ripping, i have been able to do without any problem at all, using 'dvd shrink', and dvd decrypter, and 'anydvd' trial version.

I have not run into any problems with any of these movies, so maybe the brand/model of the dvd burner may be part of some of these problems? I've only been doing this for about 3 weeks now, so I really don't know much about the whole process. Could the burner be part of the culprit why some people are having problems? i don't know much about it, so i'm only guessing.

Unfortunately, I wish the solution was that easy but, its not. I would say at least %50 of the problems are "operator errors". Other %25 is they are not using the latest version, so they just come back and say so and so program doesn't work. Don't get me wrong, the burner may of a slight chance of being the culprit but, its highly unlikely.

I have to agree with temj, most of issues arising are from operator error, trying to do it too fast, wrong procedural process, etc.

Most would do themselves a favor to slow down and consider what is happening rather than overeacting and continually downloading something else new to try and resolve the issue.

Don't get me wrong, new programs are fun but they all need to be learned and mastered.

I have had great success with AnyDVD, DVDdecrypter, and DVDShrink handling any movie that I have tried to backup. My problems have all been OPERATOR error, with me being the operator!

Cheers.
