I am thinking about modding an xbox with a modchip but i have a questions regarding xbox live...

if i put a modchip in, will i be able to play online? if so, will i be able to play online with games that have been backuped?

i thinking about this chip...

I see that there is a switch to turn off the modchip so u can play online but does that mean that i will need the original game to play online?

are there any chips that are better?

You need a moddified bios to play copied games, IE: unsigned code.

If your mod is off, you can't run unsigned code. IE: no copied games.

You have to own the original disc to play it on LIVE...no matter what. Well you can play your burned game for about 24 hours...then get banned.

What is the best modchip out there?? any suggestions?

You can play backedup games online. You just cant play them on xbox live. using xbconnect you can play backups or off the hdd.

i reccomend that if you have a newish xbox (bought this or last year) that you chose a differant modchip, i bought a spider chip and tried to install into a ver 1.6 and well it was a disadter, it had laquer over the VIA holes and in an effort to remove the laquer i took the bios trace off to by accident=major xbox fragging lol had to buy a new one >_< and havent been game to try the chip on this one yet either, mostly fearing that its not as it says and that you can get banned off xbl for it, not sure if turning it off is going to be enough, any enlightenment would be great :p
