Cause of discs skipping?

Some of my games have audio skipping and some pausing. So far ESPN 2K5 and LOTR The third age suffer from this. Here is what I am using~
DVD Decrypter 2X Speed
SM 3.6
PSTwo
Ritek Ridata G05 8X discs

I have the game isos on an external hard drive and I am writing them onto the disc by using firewire. Is there anything here that I have listed that could be the problem for these games?

Or is this how the games are?

have you tried doing them at 4X, that seems to work well
with 8X DVD's
usually speed and media are the cause of those types of problems
but i do not know anything about external HDD's and the
problems they may cause you.

and have you made a few games that worked just fine?

So far from what I have tried, the games have been fine. It is just these 2 so far.

I am experiencing the same problem right now with SWbattlefront 2, It skips so much it is unplayable, was using maxell DVD+R @ 6x with great success, Gonna try again with Verbatim or TDK's 4x. Of course I download my iso's so maybe someone f'd up when rebuilding it.

What's the word on using DVD+RW's for ps2 backups?

They worked! For some reason 4X is the best speed to copy with.
