Well I got stealth and can't seem to rip it with DVDDecrypter. Is anyone else having this problem? Also what other program can I use to rip it without compressing it?

Nevermind I got it. I used AnyDVD with DVDDecrypter. AnyDVD kicks ass.

EDIT: Damn!! It failed 2/3 of the way through. What else does everyone recomend?

When using AnyDVD, try just dragging and dropping. Explore the DVD and then Drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder onto your HD.

First try this though (Make sure you disable AnyDVD if you try the following);

http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/forum-33.html

Go here and download a PSL file for the movie. You will use DVD Decrypter to import the PSL file by clicking on "File=>Protected Sector List=>import". Then import the file and rip the movie.

If this fails, you can also try DVDFab Decrypter.

If everything fails, try manually removing the ARccOS:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/255980

This guide is not the easiest to follow, but it should work for just about any movie out there. just note that you can skip the parts about changing first play and removing the FBI Warnings.

quick question jaguar...you suggested drag and drop with AnyDVD open...in doing that it created a video_ts file on my desktop...so then i used Nero recode 2 to compress and burn the dvd...for some reason i still cannot play the dvd on my standalone. does AnyDVD just override the region coding for reading a region 3 dvd? if so, what would let me write it region free to play in my stand alone? i have tried dvddecrypter but doesnt seem to want to work for me, any suggestions? thanks

AnyDVD does remove region coding, so your copy will be region free. Just to make sure, right click on the Fox icon and select "Show information". Copy and paste it in the forum. (make sure the original is in the drive though).

I have never had problems with AnyDVD except for removing adverts and trailers (NEVER use this feature!!!). What error does your standalone give you? Do you get the "This disc can not be played in this region" or similar warning??

If the DVD Player gives you a "Invalid Disc" or "Please Insert Disc" or "No Disc" warning, then it may be related to your DVDR media or your burn speed.

Make sure you burn at 4x max and use quality DVDRs. I buy Fujifilm DVD+R 8x Made in Japan. Also look for Sony Made in Japan and Maxell made in Japan.

AnyDVD and DVDDecrypter won't work with Stealth. It crashes at 69%. Theres something AnyDVD can't get by at that point. Just use DVD Fab Express.

^^^DVD Decrypter can rip it in IFO mode. Just uncheck the corrupted cells. Also a PSL file import will will easily do the whole movie in File or ISO mode. However, if you use IFO mode for Decrypter, you will have to correct the IFOs using IFOEdit's "strip streams" feature. Then you can use Shrink or whatever.

There is a chance that there are two different protections with this movie. I have seen a 1-disc "Special Edition" and a 2-disc edition with an Extra 4 hours of features. I have not looked at this movie yet and will not for another 5 days, when I will take a look at other movies and see what works and what doesn't.

If there are two protections out for this movie, this could mean that AnyDVD only addressed one of them, however, this is just a thought and I have no evidence to back it up except for me seeing two different boxes at Blockbuster when I rented "Hulk: Ultimate Destruction".

Hi all, I still think that my stealth disk was a bad pressing.... But i will try the PSL2 file work around cause my read rate does go down to zero b4 it gives up the ghost... so you say i can rip the disk with the PSL2 file DVDD in ISO mode and then use shrink??? Am i clear on that?? I know i have to disable AnyDVD prior to using DVDD with the PSL2.....

P.S.I hate being a newbie sometimes :-P

Yes, a PSL file will let you rip it. On the parts where DVDD goes to 0kbps ripping, it will just insert a dummy sector. This means it will not rip those parts.

ok I got an error reading with decrypter after about 5 minutes.
i'm talking about Stealth.
the PSL file failed- got an error on it.

So I launched Slysoft AnyDvd and Dvd Decrypter.
IT completed after about an hour with 0 errors or skipped sections.
I burned it with Dvd Shrink- 2 versions:
1- complete all extras.
2- just the movie.

Both worked fine - excellent quality as usual.

I have had a few ppl reccomend Dvd Fab Express and have an excellent quality disk in 30 minutes?

so I can't see this in 30 minutes and excellent quality.
They must be using a high speed burn on the fly- so to speak!

you've been burned!

First post ever.
For Stealth use DVDFab and Nero Recode. Works fine on a Plextor 716.
DVD Decrypter would not work on Stealth for me.
I use a combination of DVDFab and DVD Decrypter then always use Nero Recode and have never had a problem.

How exactly are you folks using DVDfab and DVDDecrypter together? Are you using 'fab' to rip the movie then decrypter to edit? What's your process?

and yes, Stealth is "stealthed" from DVDDecrypter. I would expect more movies in the future to have more than one type of encryption since the good people that wrote those programs are choosing not to keep up.

not using them together. I always try DVD Decrypter First and works 99% of the time then use Nero Recode. On a few occasions DVD Decrypter has not worked then I would use DVD FAB.

Check this out:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260734

It is a guide where I ripped Stealth with DVD Decrypter version 3.1.0.0 from may of 2002. There is also some discussion on the ARccOS protection and Macrovision's Ripguard in the latter posts.

And Quoting myself from the "STEALTH MOVIE" thread:
Quote:
EDIT: One more note, you have to blank out the special features and previews using VobBlanker. Also, use the program to strip the Audio from the main movie. Leave only the Dolby AC3 otherwise it will not compress.

Try one of these three options:

1. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260734

2. http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56078

3. Or if you have the Widescreen version make PSL file, then read the second link and go to the "Remove Crap" Section:

I could not get DVD Shrink to read Stealth straight off the DVD. I used DVDFab to copy to the hard drive then used DVD Shrink and worked like a champ.

I got Stealth to rip to the hard drive using DVDDecryptor but DVD Shrink cannot compress it enough to fit on 4.7 GB disc. Any way to get this done? Is everyone that is successful getting it burned to a disc using dual-layer media or no?

I always remove the languages I do not want, French, Spanish, etc.. to save space. I did not have any problem getting Stealth on a single layer disk. DVDFab to hard drive then DVD Shrink to DVD. Removing the extra languages may help.
