I went back through my backups after having trouble backing up a new game and realized that quite a few have a hiccup in them. During intros its very evident as it seems to "skip" and even in game it hiccups once in awhile causing music to get stuck in a stutter or freeze up momentarily in play. Any suggestions?

DVD Decrypter for ripping
ImgBurn for burning (this is new and made by the Lightning UK group who did DVD Decrypter)

What speed are you burning at? Have you tried using any other program besides ImgBurn? Have you tried rebuilding the game and then burning it?

Hi Jamaal10, I am burning at a 4x. I have tried using DVD Decrypter and Nero to the same effect. Though no I have not tried rebuilding, I am still learning how to do that by reading the forums...but I thought it was more for fixing dummy files?

I have a V7 and the only way backups work on my PS2 is if I rebuild them. It helps eliminate the excess files. If you have Nero, it is actually a very easy process. You just have to download ISO Buster and you're ready. Here's a tutorial: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949

try burning at 2X or even 1X seeing how this sometimes fixes skipping issues.

Ok trying the rebuild Nero method now.

WEStar, I am unable to burn at that speed, I guess since I am using an 8x disk that I can burn as low as 4x only.

Completed a burn with the Nero rebuild and its almost perfect. Way better than my last back up but it still has minor hiccups....I played for about 30 mins doing various things on the game. Watching intros and story bits and actual game play and it hiccuped three times. Thanks Jamaal10 for that link....I hope I can perfect this.

Rebuild and burn at 2x. I have a Matrix Infinity, but for whatever reason EA games give my v.4 PS2 a helluva time. I had to rebuild NHL 2006 and NBA 2006 to get them working flawlessly. I plan to rebuild Madden when it's done downloading. Rebuilding with Nero and Isobuster takes 10-15 mins when you get it down. I then burn with the UDF/ISO DVD option in Nero at 2x and it works great.
