I want to rip a movie from DVD, but into a "media extention" (.avi/.mpeg) etc. What do I do?

I posted it in another thread but I feel that my question needs a thread.


I want to rip a "DVD" so that I can actually open it in an EDITING software such as "Adobe Premiere 1.5" or any of the editing files. But this program DVD Encrypter seems that it's only ruipping an "ISO"

How does that work? I mean, for example... if I want to rip the whole movie from a DVD and then I want to "re-edit" the film myself and rip it back on to a DVD or just have it in .AVI or .mpeg (whichever of the two is best, i dont know) what do I need to do?

HiIgorek,

Dvd decrypter actually rips in 3 modes: ISO, IFO, FIle. If you are wanting to edit you can use the file mode and deal with each file separately( note decrypter rips/ splits files into about 1gb unless you choose otherwise). Look in the guides section or http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm use that link for excellent guides on using dvd decrypter. If you want only the movie IFO mode will give you that option. Hope this was helpful and post back if you " need some further advice".

Let me add if you want to change the ripped dvd into an avi file then use autogk also found in the software tab at the top of the page.
