I'm sure somebody else has had this problem, but when I searched through the thread (which was was last posted in about a year ago or more), there wasn't any useful information.
I'm using CopyToDVD to burn my DVD project using my hp dvd writer dvd200i (which didn't support my DVD-Rs, so I had to get a batch of DVD+Rs...). However, whenever I begin burning, it replies, "writesector failed at sector 0 (16)" as one of the major errors. The other error stated that it was some hardware error.
Does anyone know what's causing this?
I was reading up on the model of this dvd writer, and the only thing that could've possibly been the problem is that the writer works at a minimum of 41 degrees (Fahrenheit, I'm guessing). It's winter right now, but my computer's safely in a warm area. Still, it might affect it... somehow... maybe... slightly...
Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
PS - what's the difference between DVD+R and DVD-R? I certainly don't see much difference except in the name.

Well, I used DivXtoDVD to convert the files to VOB, then I used DVD-lab Pro to author it (menus, subtitles, bloopers in the filming process) and compile it, and then I used CopyToDVD to burn it. Except that it won't burn.
I tried the burner incorporated into DVD-lab, but it came out with "ERR: INVALID FILE IN CDB".
Any idea what that means?

I have never used DVD-lab pro, the editing etc could have been done in NeroRecode2, and then burnt

Well, the resultant files are all the same, aren't they? VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, each with their files.
I burned the ISO image to my HD fine; is there any way I can burn using the ISO image?
EDIT: I used DVD Decrypter, but that also failed. The log file... should I post it up?

Ok, since nobody asked yet, I'll do it....
What brand of media(blank) are you using?
Or even better to know would be: What is the manufacturer ID of the disc. You can find out the manufacturer ID several ways, the easiest being using DVD Identifier.
Is your firmware current or up to date?
It seems that 1.72 is the most recent version for your drive.
DVD Decrypter can check your firmware for you.. Click Tools>Drive>Check for firmware updates....

Well... DVD Identifier didn't work at first, but then I got the firmware update (what is a firmware update, by the way?) and it got it just fine. Thanks for that.
The ID (of the DVD, an Imation DVD+R 4.7 GB) is:
MBIPG101
The manufacturer is Moser Baer India Ltd., if that's important at all.
I tried again with CopyToDVD, but the same error popped up.

It's a set of instructions for your drive on how to handle discs when you put them in.

'Kay, thanks. Mine's in the 50-80% succes range. So does that mean I'm just gonna have to try it a bunch of times, or if it doesn't work on my computer, it's not gonna ever work on my computer?
Would Best Buy be a good place to go shopping for blank DVDs, then?

That basically means that they averaged 50-80% success rates for their burns. But think about it.... if you spend 30 bucks on a 50 pack and only half come out good then you just threw away 15 bucks.
If you're shopping at best buy, check out Sony discs. They usually run sales on them. From what I've read, they're pretty good discs. Verbatim are definitely good discs, but I don't know if best buy carries them in bulk since I don't shop there for my discs.
