hey guys ihave got a ps2 console but the dvd-rom is broken .. so i waz thinking about running the gizmo using a segate compattible 20Gb (HDD) via the net work adapter i had got with it..altho its not modded .. i have got Hd-Loader, Hd-Advance, Media Player.iso... is there a way soultion around the whole idea of getting it to work .. but remember my ps2 dvd-rom is broken .. so should be also be able to FTP games to the HDD ... via my pc ...

Yeah, that won't work...

Unless your PS2 is modded, you need to be able to read CDs to boot into HDLoader. I would try cleaning my laser if I were you. Who know, that could be why you can't read CDs. Search the forums for a guide.

hey thanks alot for the info .. but i have also got an xbox with the same situation .. but the xbox is modd .. with evox chip... the dvd drive took a hike ,,lol . so i used a liTeon CD-RW .. tooo boot .. the system ran normal ... with some emulators & Turock iso on the (HD).. i back up the data and wiped the (HD).. is there a way around this too get the gizmo bac up and running .. witout using a dvd drive .. and prepairing the (HD)boot image via windows then placeing bac the (HD)in the XBOX and boot in too Evox sucessfully till i grab hold of aN (IDE_dvd rom)

Why did you wipe out the data from your XBOX? I'm not too sure how it works with XBOXs, but from what i understand, as long as the hard drive is unlocked, you can do whatever you want to it. I have never heard of a PC side program for resetting a hard drive to their default setting.

As long as you have a chip, you should be able to reinstall your dashboard, but you do need to have a DVD drive. I really can't help you out too much on this problem because i just don't have the experience with that console. I would try over in the XBOX section or the forum for your chip retailer/manufacturer.
