Well, I have looked around on this forum quite a bit and my pproblem seems to be somewhat unique. My ps2 has alot of trouble recognizing anything that I burn, but my friend gave me a game to try out and the one he gave me runs fine every time I try it. I went out and got the same brand of discs the he was using, Memorex +R 16x, and tried burning in the same way, using a ripped ISO and burning with Nero. Mine still dont work. Ive also tried re-ripping the ISO from the original disk with DVD Dectrypter, then burning that again with both Nero and DVD decrypter at 1x, and my ps2 still doesn't recognize them.
Ive read that the quality of media used is a major factore, but shouldn't the disks Ive bought work, since theyre the same as the one burn I have that works?
Ive also gone and ordered some Taiyo Yuden from supermediastore, and whenever those arrive hopefully they will work. But could there be any other problem aside from my media?

Start dvd decrypter right click your rw drive.
First check for firmware updates.
After that is complete.
Put a quality blank media into your drive.
Goto mode iso write (using dvd decrypter).
IN THE BOX ON THE RIGHT YOU WILL SEE "SUPPORTED WRITE SPEEDS".
These are the speeds that you can Correctly burn (USING THE MEDIA THAT IS INSERTED.)
It will vary from one media maufacturer to another.
(Go with the SLOWEST SUPPORTED SPEED)
Well theres no firmware updates available, and Ive already tried burning it at the lowest supported speed with no luck. Ive also tried burning the ISO as well as the MDS and neither burn worked. I know my media aint the best, and so I will most likely use it for movies. My main question still remains though, why does the game my friend burned on this same media work while mine do not? Is there any reason, or maybe just luck?
Also, Maxell was supposed to be a nice brand, and their -Rs dont work either. The brand I had the most luck with, but which still doesnt work half the time, was Memorex -R. I also tried Fujifilm +R, but I didnt expect those to really work.
memorex outsources to MANY different vendors,
They DO NOT make there own media.
Some of Memorex manufacturers are OK.
The rest are bottom of the barrel landfill material.
Ps2 needs a quality media to playback properly,
Invest in some good media and it should solve your problems.
You can use 'Dvd Identifier' a free program to determine,
who made the media that worked and the ones that didnt.
But as a general rule, memorex is a gamble at best,
I recommend everyone to stay away from it
