Okay, I have been using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. Up until about a week ago, everything has been fine (I think). Now, all of a sudden when I make backup of a movie, it plays great for about 45 minutes, then it starts to freeze up, jump around, or go to the menu screen. I am running Windows XP and have a Sony DVD burner. Is there something wrong with the drivers? or is a Nero issue? or maybe I am buring at too fast a speed? Please help. I have made 10 coasters in the last two weeks.

Could be speed issue, could also be bad media issue. Could I have your Latest Nero log, or any of the logs that failed? The log will be in ProgramFiles\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory. If you can't find it then just search. The diff sections are separated by this thing:

====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ======

I will need everything under that, but only one section and the last section. And please remember to edit out your serial number, it'll be at the very top, usually starts w/ 1A2 or something.

Nero is now running 6.6.0.18, your behing a version. When you go to update it only download packets 1&2. Your firmware is behind by several version. current is 2.1g, here's a link for that:

YOu shouldn't be multi-tasking when you burn. Via task manager close up all unneeded apps.

You are using horrible media, switch to Taiyu Yuden or Verbatim. Sony and Fuji is fine but they have to be made in Japan.

With good media like Taiyo Yuden 8x should be fine, but what you're using is crap so if you insist on using prodisc burn at no higher than 2x. But seriously don't use it, new disc'll run you about 30 cents a disc. don't cheap out.

Try the updates as suggested by GlueEater. I've had mixed results with that media. My litey hates them. They wouldn't even playback on my set top dvd player and the scans were horrid when burned with it but when burned with my benq they played just fine and the scans were good. Try slowing the burn speed to 2x. In the future I also recommend useing better media to avoid the problems like what you are having. My media of choice is verbatum DVD+R hub printables.

Okay, I was wrong. I was not using Nero, but was only using DVD Shrink to burn the discs. I will try better quality discs. I hope that solves it. Regardless, I updated Nero as well.

Dvd shrink does not incorperate it's own burn utility but instead uses nero or dvd decrypter to burn and it was most likely useing nero in your case unless you instructed it to make an iso and burn with dvd decrypter.

Your firmware is several updates behind as well. The current is 2.1g and yours is 2.1a http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1719 I would definately update the f/w.
