MY PS2 RESET BUTTON FELL OUT!! HOW DO I FIX IT!!!!!?????

I opened my system and the reset button strip fell. Where do i put it back????

You are going to have to futher take it appart. The ribbon tip plugs into a slot under the disc tray. I've done it. I don't remember exactly but there are about 4 or 5 different ribbons of different sizes like that in there. You'll see when you open it up. And they pop out easy too.

Oh yeah, you are going to have a time putting that ribbon back in...

Have a jar close by so you can save all your screws, because you are going to have like 10 of them...
- (From memory) you are going to have to remove all the screws on the bottom.
-remove the lid and unscrew the gold screws that hold down the controller ports. There are also tabs that hold in the DVD drive and motherboard. Un-pop those tabs and lift the board off the bottom of the case.
-remove the metal drive bay.

If you can skip this step, go for it. You will need nimble fingers if you do though.
-remove the tiny metal screws that hold a metal plate on the under side of the mother board.

The slot that holds the ribbon is now accessible. It is located on the side that the drive bay is on. It has a locking tab that I think you have to lift up.
-lift up the tab and snug the cable into the slot. It will not go too far in, just far enough where it will kinda stick.
-snap down the locking tab and check for a sure fit.

Reassemble your ps2 and test it with the lid off to see if the button has been installed properly. BE SURE NOT TO LOOK AT THE LASER WHILE DOING THIS.

You should be in business. Also, be sure you have a small precision screw driver and a medium sized screw driver.
